The volume, the outcome of the three-year project of the same name carried out by Fondazione Courmayeur Mont Blanc, brings together reflections on the “Return to the Alps” as a field of responsibility: architectures that educate, accommodate leisure time, and regenerate civic services in mountain territories. From schools to community facilities, from mountain huts to small sports infrastructures, the projects demonstrate restraint, durability, and an awareness of climate change, integrating constructive precision, care for the territory, and the memory of places. Discreet interventions and lightweight devices activate public spaces, routes, and local economies, employing coherent materials and setting in motion processes of community cohesion.
