The conference Educating for Change investigates the theme of the educational space in relation to renewed pedagogical methods, but it is also understood as an engine of social change, a dual and highly topical point of view, from which deliberately different experiences in the design approach are presented.
The research in the school field of the South Tyrolean master Othmar Barth (1927-2010) is interpreted and narrated by the MoDusArchitects studio, which shares with Barth the city of his life and work, Bressanone, measuring itself in the study and restoration of some of his works. Bressanone is also the site of the new Music School, an educational building included in a strategic renovation project that the Carlana Mezzalira Pentimalli studio has realised in constant confrontation with the form and history of the city. These urban projects are counterpointed by the intervention of the French studio PNG, which has revitalised a number of educational and social services in the Alpine village of Saint-Barthélemyde-Séchilienne (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes) by working on the quality of life of the local community, a theme at the centre of the Round Table that concludes the conference.
Il convegno Educare al cambiamento indaga il tema dello spazio educativo in relazione a modalità pedagogiche rinnovate, ma è anche inteso come motore di cambiamento sociale, un duplice e quanto mai attuale punto di vista, a partire dal quale sono presentate esperienze volutamente diverse nell’approccio progettuale.
La ricerca in ambito scolastico del maestro altoatesino Othmar Barth (1927-2010) viene interpretata e raccontata dallo studio MoDusArchitects, che con Barth condivide la città di vita e lavoro, Bressanone, misurandosi nello studio e nel restauro di alcune sue opere. A Bressanone sorge anche la nuova Scuola di musica, un’architettura educativa inserita in un progetto strategico di rinnovamento che lo studio Carlana Mezzalira Pentimalli ha realizzato in costante confronto con la forma e la storia della città. A questi progetti urbani fa contrappunto l’intervento dello studio francese PNG, che ha rivitalizzato alcuni servizi educativi e sociali nel villaggio alpino di Saint-Barthélemyde-Séchilienne (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes) lavorando sulla qualità della vita della comunità locale, tema al centro della Tavola rotonda che conclude il convegno.
